Plered is the name of a district at Purwakarta, West Java with a total area of 97,172 ha (or 36.79 square KM-edited). Plered history can not be separated from the history of ceramics and its struggle. Plered region, Cirata, Gandasoli and Citalang are included of city or village in the old Purwakarta Regency. History of Plered and ceramics had been created since Neolitikum period. At the time, there had been residents who came to Cirata alongside Citarum River.
From the excavation in the Cirata areas are found defection of stone, square ax and pestle of stone, including the stoneware and pot of clay, also found the panjunan (anjun), a place to make ceramics.
Origin of the name of Plered have various versions: the name of which comes from the period of forced labor when at that time this area became a place of coffee plantation that using a gig drawn by a buffalo (called Palered)to deliver the coffee. Plered is one of the districts in Purwakarta, West Java Province with a population of approximately 65,172 inhabitants spread in 16 villages. Plered making ceramics is estimated to take place from generation to generation since 1904, so the quality is good and exported to Japan, Netherlands, Thailand, Singapore and other countries. Sate MARANGGI usually made of goat meat or beef. That distinguish maranggi sate with other sate is flavor is made of soy sauce that has a blend taste sweet, sour, spicy and a touch tongue to time to enjoy this special seasoned sate.
